Victoria’s biggest and best all-ages music festival PUSH OVER is back in 2009. Presented by all ages music organisation The Push, Push Over 2009 is an all ages, fully supervised event with no pass-outs. In its 17th year, Push Over continues its tradition of being a drug, alcohol and smoke-free event in 2009. Inspired by America's current political and cultural landscape, Tom Gabel began to write new songs in January 2008. Due to the topical and timely subject matter, he wanted to release them around the upcoming Presidential election. "Heart Burns" was recorded late August in Los Angeles on a short two week break in between Against Me! tours. Gabel co-produced the EP along with Billy Bush, while Butch Vig executive produced. The EP contains several guest appearances including Chuck Ragan and Matt Skiba (Alkaline Trio) and will be released in Australia by Resist on Nov 15. Perhaps the most quintessential band of the New York hardcore punk scene of the late 80s, Gorilla Biscuits became highly influential in the space of just one album (1989's Start Today) and EP (1988's Gorilla Biscuits). With the group disbanding in 1992, Gorilla Biscuits briefly reunited in 1997 for a benefit at CBGB's, and played another show there on August 14, 2005 as a benefit to save the club from financial problems. To coincide with the re issue of "Start Today", the band held a month-long reunion tour during the US summer of 2006, and in September 2007 performed a month long tour across Europe. With Australian fans patiently waiting decades for a Gorilla Biscuits Tour, December 2008 will see the band heading down under for the very first time, tickets go on sale Oct 13.

Smoke or Fire was formed in 1998 in Massachusetts. The long-time pals teamed up originally under the name Jericho and played basements throughout the Northeast. It wasn’t long till they migrated south to Richmond, Virginia. It was here, tucked beneath the Mason-Dixon line, that the band could not only live affordably and work on their songs, but also be a part of a vibrant musical community that boasts a storied punk rock past and presently teeming with talent. After playing shows and perfecting their songs the band was plucked outta RVA by Fat Wreck Chords and released 2005’s Above The City and 2007's The Sinking Ship. This October / november they will head to Australia for the very first time.

Baltimore, Maryland has never been known for its beauty or charm. With a strong D.I.Y work ethic, an honest and sincere outlook, and not to mention a machine-like touring regiment, Ruiner has been breaking barriers since their first show in October 2004. Before releasing their debut LP Prepare to Be Let Down in 2007 on Bridge Nine, Ruiner already toured the full United States four times, parts of Canada twice and three times to Mexico. They played a little over 200 shows in their 18 months of existence. Later this month they release "I Heard These Dudes Are Assholes" a 14 song collection of past EPs, splits and demos and in November will be adding Australia to there relentless touring schedule.

CARPATHIAN recently recorded 2 brand new tracks for a new 7" EP Wrecked, to be released this December. Limited to 500 copies Wrecked will precede the bands new album, which will be released in 2008. February 2008 will see PARKWAY DRIVE and 50 LIONS hitting the road on the Surf Rat Tour. The tour will be passing through the likes of Cooma, Wangaratta, Wagga Wagga, Kiama, Sutherland, Coffs Harbour, Sunshine Coast, Townsville and many more towns as well as PARKWAY DRIVE appearing at the MS Fest in Tasmania. All shows are all ages, tickets go on sale November 21.
HER NIGHTMARE PREPARES NEW ALBUM

In the coming weeks, HER NIGHTMARE will be heading into the studio to record the follow up to 2005's No Heaven No Hell. Scheduled for a March 2008 release, the yet to be titled album will be recorded with renowned producer Zeuss (Hatebreed, Madball, Terror, Throwdown) at Planet Z Studios in the USA.

PARKWAY DRIVE's new album Horizons has debuted at #6 on the ARIA chart, #1 on the Australian Artist chart and # 1 on the Independent charts, this being the highest placed ARIA position for any Resist artist and also for PARKWAY DRIVE. To coincide with the release of Horizons, the band hit the road for what was their first Australian tour this year, resulting with all shows on the tour selling out. This November the band will return to Europe as part of the "Never Say Die" tour along with Comeback Kid, Cancer Bats, The Warriors and This Is Hell.

In the past few months Mindsnare have shown why they are one of the most highly regarded hardcore acts in the country. With the release of their Resist debut on June 30, "Disturb The Hive" was voted 1st in Triple J's listener poll on Short Fast Loud for best album for the first half of 2007. Appearing at Sydney's Come Together festival, then on to co-headline the Hardcore 2007 Festival, a week later saw them out on the road with US bands Unearth & Walls Of Jericho taking in the whole country. September / October will see them again packing the van to head out on tour with their friends Against & Samsara. Michael Crafter has decided to stand down as vocalist for Carpathian and will be playing his final shows on the Melbourne dates of the Summer Tour. Original vocalist Martin Kirby will continue as the bands front man and will soon be announcing a new guitarist. Adelaide’s, GOD SO LOVED THE WORLD is a melodic hardcore band reviving the urgency and passion that made early punk and hardcore so great. With influences ranging from Good Riddance and Black Flag to Sick Of It All, it is clear that this band love their hardcore sounds whilst still manage to carry melody, showcasing a maturity of sound and freshness that is lacking in much of today’s hardcore. God So Loved The World is currently preparing to release its debut self-titled EP, including 6 brand new tracks with 6 bonus tracks taken from their now out of press demo. THE DEAD WALK’S debut album We Prowl The Streets is now in stores. Formed in 2004, THE DEAD WALK! soon released a five track demo followed soon after with the Re-Animation EP. We Prowl The Streets is a 30 minute onslaught of a combination of personal, political, humorous and gratuitously violent messages over a soundtrack of mid 90's Cleveland, late 80's New York inspired hardcore, clearly influenced by the likes of Integrity, Ringworm, In Cold Blood and Madball. AVAIL return down under for the first time in 8 years

NEW Hardly in need of any introduction, AVAIL boasts heavyweight status as one of America's longest running punk bands of merit. Originally conceived in the suburbs and shadow of late '80s DC hardcore, the band soon relocated to Richmond, Virginia where the band has called home for the past 15 years. With years of incessant touring, studio and live albums including classic releases such as Satiate, Dixie and 4 A.M. Friday (which along with Over The James have recently been re-issued by Jade Tree), Avail's high-energy melodies, thundering breakdowns and occasional classic rock riffs gradually integrated more and more of the band's Richmond roots. Having toured Australia in 1998 with Lagwagon, October 2006 will see Avail return down under for the first time in 8 years. Check shows page for details.

Newcastle's THE DEAD WALK! debut album We Prowl The Streets will be instores July 3. PARKWAY DRIVE join Taste Of Chaos Festival and join Epitaph

PARKWAY DRIVE will be heading back to Australia in October where they will be touring as part of the Taste Of Chaos Festival. Taste Of Chaos will return down under this October and will include Taking Back Sunday, Thursday, Anti-Flag, Underoath, Senses Fail, and Saosin. These will be Parkway Drive's first shows on home soil since late April. In other PARKWAY DRIVE news, the band has recently signed to Epitaph who will be looking after their releases in the USA, Killing With A Smile will be released locally in the US on August 22. Resist will continue as the bands Australian label.

PARKWAY DRIVE have recently completed their first UK/European tour and will be playing select dates in June on Darkest Hour's European Tour. They will be back in Europe and UK in August/September joining Shai Hulud and Remembering Never. USA and Japan dates will be announced soon, with plans to return home in October. Their debut EP Dont Close Your Eyes will be rereleased on August 7, which will also include tracks from the I Killed The Prom Queen split, What We Built comp and True Till Death comp.

The world's most destructive hardcore metal band, RINGWORM will be doing their first ever Australian tour in July/August of this year, to support their newest release Justice Replaced By Revenge (Victory Records). Originally from the metal scene of Cleveland, Ohio, RINGWORM have spent the past decade unleashing destruction, spending the past four years touring with bands such as Hatebreed, Blood For Blood, Converge and Terror. In 2005, Reflections invited PANIC to play a reunion show in Holland, and exactly 4 years after their first show, the PANIC reunion was enough to convince the members that they weren't finished with what they had started and the decided to record the Circles EP.

Having toured Australia in December 2005 with Champion, Internal Affairs and MILES AWAY, BETRAYED wasted no time when they returned home to the US and recorded their debut album Substance. Forming in September 2004, BETRAYED were an idea sprouted from the minds of Todd Jones (Carry On / Terror) and vocalist Aram Arslanian (Champion) that was subsequently put into action. Jones effectively sums the new album up, saying, "One of the lines from the title track is 'We search for substance,' and basically that means we're not just some band looking to play the role. We don't mimic anything. We just go for it and do our own thing." The "own thing" he speaks of is a fast and aggressive, yet melodic and catchy brand of hardcore that recalls '80s era hardcore pioneers like Minor Threat and Dag Nasty. BETRAYED put their own unique spin on the sound, and they play with all heart, all the time. THE HOPE CONSPIRACY have been a brut force in the aggressive music community since their inception. Boston's PANIC are the latest band to join the Resist roster. Licensed from Reflections Records, Circles marks the return of this legendary band.
Forming in 2001, PANIC went on to record 2 EPs for Bridge 9 (which will soon be re released along with their 2001 demo), before quitting while onstage at the Back to School Jam in 2002 in Massachusetts. In 2005, Reflections invited PANIC to play a reunion show in Holland, and exactly 4 years after their first show, the PANIC reunion was enough to convince the members that they weren't finished with what they had started and the decided to record the Circles EP for Reflections, due out May 15.
