Their third LP "The Note" can help resurrect the golden days of sweaty, hardcore matinees, with lyrics that meant something, and shows that were the highlight of a working class kid’s week. Resist is proud to welcome BETRAYED to the family

15 May 2006

Having toured Australia in December 2005 with Champion, Internal Affairs and MILES AWAY, BETRAYED wasted no time when they returned home to the US and recorded their debut album Substance. Forming in September 2004, BETRAYED were an idea sprouted from the minds of Todd Jones (Carry On / Terror) and vocalist Aram Arslanian (Champion) that was subsequently put into action. Jones effectively sums the new album up, saying, "One of the lines from the title track is 'We search for substance,' and basically that means we're not just some band looking to play the role. We don't mimic anything. We just go for it and do our own thing." The "own thing" he speaks of is a fast and aggressive, yet melodic and catchy brand of hardcore that recalls '80s era hardcore pioneers like Minor Threat and Dag Nasty. BETRAYED put their own unique spin on the sound, and they play with all heart, all the time. Their previous releases include a self-titled record on Bridge 9 Records and a split EP with Champion on Rivalry Records.

Licensed from Equal Vision Records, BETRAYED's upcoming 13-song album, Substance will be in stores on July 10. Check out an mp3 of the title track, Substance up now on the media page.

We would like to welcome THE HOPE CONSPIRACY to the Resist family

8 May 2006

THE HOPE CONSPIRACY have been a brut force in the aggressive music community since their inception. Through years of relentless touring and now classic releases on the Equal Vision ("Cold Blue" 2000, "Endnote" 2002) and Bridge 9 ("File 03" 2001) labels, THE HOPE CONSPIRACY's impact and influence is undeniable.

Their brand new album Death Knows Your Name will be released in Australia by Resist later in 2006. (Deathwish Inc will be releasing it in the US) Death Knows Your Name was recorded and engineered by Kurt Ballou (Converge, Modern Life Is War) at Godcity Studios and marks the first recorded appearance of Tim Cossar (American Nightmare, Bars) with HOPE CON, as well as the return of guitarist Neeraj Kane (The Suicide File) to the song writing fold.

As a precursor HOPE CON will release a limited 7" EP Hang Your Cross in the coming months on Deathwish. Hang Your Cross features 3 devastating songs from their recent Godcity recording sessions, including one song co-written by CONVERGE guitarist Kurt Ballou. Strictly limited to 2000 copies, THE HOPE CONSPIRACY Hang Your Cross 7"EP comes in 4 vinyl/cover color variations (500 of each variation), each cover meticulously hand silkscreened with the striking illustrative work of Aaron Horkey (Burlesque Design). www.deathwishinc.com
