Short Fast Loud’s top 40 of 2007
Triple J’s Short Fast Loud have held their annual Top 40 releases of the year as voted by the listeners and the results have been revealed with Parkway Drive’s Horizons taking out the #1 spot. The Gaslight Anthem join Resist Records
Hailing from New Brunswick, New Jersey, The Gaslight Anthem’s mixture of punk rock sing- alongs, folk story telling, and a unique soulfulness underneath it all has been bursting out of its own seams since their inception in the winter of 2005. The group’s debut ‘Sink Or Swim’ on NJ’s XOXO Records is steeped in influence of each of the four member’s upbringing and you can hear it all very clearly, the trick is how seamless The Gaslight Anthem blends these influences into one cohesive mixture, resulting in a sound all their own. From Springsteen, The Clash, and Hot Water Music to elements of soul, blues, and folk, these four gentlemen have found something classic and yet brand new all at the same time. It’s a punk rock tradition of no frills, good times and playing every show like it was your last. ‘Sink Or Swim’ will be available in Australia on January 19 with their brand new EP ‘Senor And the Queen’ (licensed from Sabot Productions) instores February 2.

Coué Method joins Resist Records roster
Recently returning to Melbourne after living in Ireland for several years, ex Mid Youth Crisis frontman, Steven Milligan, has again been drawn towards writing lyrics driven by melody, underscored by pounding guitars and characterized by vigorous intent. Enlisting old friend in Adrian Lombardi (ex MYC himself, and currently of Blueline Medic), saw the beginnings of Coue’ Method take shape. The Melbourne all-star outfit has recently released a 3 track 7″ via Missing Link Records and in April 2008 will release there debut album on Resist. Madball Australian tour March 2008
Since forming, Madball has been responsible for some of the most important releases in the genre, the band completes their musical and lyrical evolution with ‘Infiltrate the System’, combining the most tried-and-true and fan-beloved elements of their esteemed catalog with new depth and renewed urgency. March 2008 will see Madball return to Australia, joining them will be Boston’s Death Before Dishonor. Tickets go on sale Dec 12.

Carpathian “Wrecked” 7″/t-shirt package pre-order
Carpathian recently recorded 2 brand new tracks for a new 7″ EP “Wrecked”, to be released this December. Limited to 500 copies ‘Wrecked’ will precede the bands new album, which will be released in 2008. Pre orders are now available through the webstore for a limited coloured version of the 7″ and a T Shirt package. A digital download of ‘Wrecked’ will also be available this December via iTunes.

Parkway Drive/50 Lions ‘Surf Rat tour’ February 2008
February 2008 will see Parkway Drive and 50 Lions hitting the road on the Surf Rat Tour. The tour will be passing through the likes of Cooma, Wangaratta, Wagga Wagga, Kiama, Sutherland, Coffs Harbour, Sunshine Coast, Townsville and many more towns as well as Parkway Drive appearing at the MS Fest in Tasmania. All shows are all ages, tickets go on sale November 21.
