Converge Australian tour March 2010
Formed in Salem, MA in 1990, Converge is to modern metal what the Ramones were to punk, with albums like “Jane Doe” and “You Fail Me” considered touchstones of the genre. 2009′s “Axe To Fall” takes the band’s maverick attitude to new highs. Three years after the release of No Heroes, critics agree that metal and hardcore’s most aggressive band, has delivered one of the best albums of their career and one of the best metal/hardcore albums of the year.
March 2010 sees Converge return to Australia bringing with them Philadelphia’s enigmatic trio known as Genghis Tron. Tickets go on sale Dec 4.

Extortion “Loose Screws” pre orders
Arguably the most potent musical force Australian music has ever seen, Resist’s latest signing, Perth’s Extortion are set to launch a fresh attack on the senses with their latest balls-out thrash incursion, "Loose Screws". A 12-track effort set for a January 8 release on both CDep and 10" vinyl formats, Loose Screws pushes Extortion’s well-established power-violence sound to face-ripping new extremes. Recorded across three continents, the basic tracks were laid down at Polymorph Studios in Oakland, California by producer Dan Rathbun (Tragedy, His Hero is Gone, Talk Is Poison), then completed vocals in Perth at Bergerk! Studios, assisted by long-time producer Al Smith (Blkout!, Jaws, Clever Species). As one final flourish, UK-based celebrity Extortion fan, Barney Greenway of Napalm Death, added his unmistakable roar to the aptly titled ‘Grind To A Halt’.
Pre orders are now available from the Resist webstore for a limited colored 10" version of "Loose Screws".

Bane “Perth 7.58am” CDep
Massachusetts BANE has established themselves as one of the most influential and relevant bands in hardcore today. in June 2009, the band booked studio time with Jay Maas at Getaway Studios to record however many new tracks they had at the time. A week later they emerged with six new songs all of them named after American soap operas, all six coming straight from their hearts.
Released on various labels throughout the world, each will have their own signature title and cover art for the release. Various photographers were contacted in the different locations where the records would be released and a photo shoot at the exact minute on the same day took place, seven photographers took a picture of their city skyline at that minute, on that day. For some it was 7:58 in the morning for others 12:58 at night, but they all pulled it off and the photo they took would be the cover and the title of the release for each territory, Tokyo 7:58am, Dublin 11:58pm, Boston 6:58pm, L.A. 3:58pm and to be released by Resist on December 4 – Perth 7.58am.

Polar Bear Club Australian tour January 2010
Effortlessly seaming together the sounds of 90s punk and hardcore akin to bands like Lifetime and Hot Water Music with a refreshingly 2000s style and their own personal twist, Polar Bear Club formed in 2005 as a side project to their various bands with little to no intention of being a full time band.
Poised to be one of 2009s greatest successes, Polar Bear Club will spend the remainder of 2009 crisscrossing the US and will start their global assault in January 2010 with their first tour of Australia. Joining them will be Perth’s Break Even and Brisbane’s The Gifthorse. Tickets are on sale October 23.
