PARKWAY DRIVE “HOME IS FOR THE HEARTLESS” ACHIEVES GOLD STATUS
Resist Records is very pleased to announce that Parkway Drive’s new DVD “Home Is For The Heartless” has shipped GOLD.
Shot in 42 countries on five continents, the 75-minute “Home Is For The Heartless” DVD is both a rare travelogue and an in-depth look at PARKWAY DRIVE on stage and off.
PARKWAY’s first DVD release, PARKWAY DRIVE: The DVD, was the highest selling Australian music DVD of 2009, achieving Platinum sales, and winning the Rolling Stone Award for ‘Best Music DVD’.
Where the DVD told the story of PARKWAY DRIVE’s history and achievements up to that point, “Home Is For The Heartless” is a much more unique and personal statement.
In addition to footage of some of the craziest shows the band has ever played, it also captures some of their greatest adventures and most poignant shared moments. Traveling to many obscure destinations, including some third-world cities that had never been visited by an international heavy band, PARKWAY DRIVE embrace the local peoples and cultures as a vital part of their experience.
More than just a film about five musicians connecting with the planet and its inhabitants, “Home is for the Heartless” is about the untold power of music and its ability to communicate beyond any language, geographical or cultural boundaries.
“Parkway Drive “Home Is For The Heartless” DVD / Blu-Ray is out now.

CRISIS ALERT JOINS RESIST RECORDS
Resist Records is proud to welcome Adelaide’s Crisis Alert to its roster. Formed in 2012 with the mindset of writing short and fast early 80’s styled hardcore songs, Crisis Alert capture the raw sound and energy that was portayed by early American hardcore bands.
Although the band formed in 2012, each band member has a lot of experience under their belts, playing in many notable bands for the past 10 years. Recorded in Adelaide and mastered in California at Golden Mastering by JJ Golden, Crisis Alert’s self titled debut 7″ will be released July 20.
Check out the track “Thought Control” here, pre orders are now available for limited edition coloured vinyl.

DEFEATER / BLACKLISTED AUSTRALIAN TOUR
In what could be one of the worst kept secrets of 2012 we can now confirm Massachusetts band Defeater will indeed be returning to Australia this September just over a year since they were here last. Defeater will be joined by none other than Philadelphia’s ever evolving Blacklisted, touring Australia for the first time since 2008.
Defeater are a band that play by their own rules; they write narrative songs about fictional characters, release concept albums, mix melodic hardcore with acoustic ballads – all the while tapping into issues such as social awareness and environmental activism. Since their formation over four years ago, Defeater have released two full-lengths (2008′s Travels and 2011′s double-LP Empty Days & Sleepless Nights) and an EP (2009′s Lost Ground) that all follow a story-telling songwriting style the band has developed about a family set in post-WWII America in a working class town in New Jersey.
Equally as individual as their tour partners and existing as a potent amalgam of individual tastes and varied interests Blacklisted have shaken off the perceived limitations of their alleged genre and begun their own ascension. Their sound is no cliched excercise in the well-worn realm of post-Hardcore. It is no less than the melody of a band hitting it’s stride and not looking back.

BURNING LOVE “ROTTEN THING TO SAY” CD OUT NOW
To the uninitiated, Burning Love is a group from Toronto, Canada with a chip on their shoulder and electric blood in their veins; their output a desperate, venomous and informed rock n’ roll fury that sways and swaggers somewhere between hardcore punk and the darker side of blues gone wrong. After the sudden demise of the now legendary Cursed, enigmatic frontman Chris Colohan picked right back up where the band last left us, but this time collaborating with the members of Our Father, comes back to the table with a band that had a decidedly different musical approach and direction.
While Cursed was intent on quickly ripping your face off, Burning Love takes that similar approach to new levels, luring you in with infectious hooks and full throttle blues before going in for the kill. Merging the darkness of Poison Idea, the melodic aspects of Queens of the Stone Age and the inspired high energy of the MC5, the attack of Burning Love begins to come into focus.
The band’s anticipated second LP, ”Rotten Thing To Say” was recorded by Converge guitarist Kurt Ballou at Godcity Studio and mastered by Alan Douches at West West Side without a doubt boasts the band’s most powerful material to date. Licensed from Southern Lord Recordings “Rotten Thing To Say” is out now.

RIVAL SCHOOLS AUSTRALIAN TOUR
Born out of a hearty hardcore pedigree, the members of Rival Schools stepped to the plate with a phenomenal history and the qualities that would point towards an amazing future.
In 2001 Walter Schreifels, Ian Love, Cache Tolman and Sammy Siegler released what would later become their seminal debut album United By Fate. Little did they know that this album would go on to help shape the world of Post-Hardcore and influence hundreds of bands along the way. Ten years later, Rival Schools released their much anticipated second album “Pedals”
“Pedals” not only breaks a decade of recording silence but reminds us and reiterates just why they achieved the success and classic album status that they did. There’s no doubt there is a definite progression from their debut, it is everything fans expected it to be and more, and without question will open up their musical genius to a whole new generation of fans.
Having toured Australia as part of 2009′s Soundwave Festival, Rival Schools will return to Australia this September where they will be joined by Toy Boats. Tickets on sale Friday 15th June
