RESIST RECORDS WELCOMES INERTIA. MEMORIA EP OUT MARCH 18.

Resist Records welcomes Sydney alternative metal outfit Inertia to its roster.

Working tirelessly over the last year to produce a body of work that showcases the quartets unstoppable talent, the band will release their new EP ‘Memoria’ on March 18.

Written as a concept EP, ‘Memoria’ hopes to connect with listeners on multiple levels. Tackling subjects such as revenge, hopelessness, inequality and self-identity, the record pulls the listener in with down-to-earth lyrics through the lens of a dystopian future. Inertia chose to self-produce with resident producer, engineer and guitarist Mark Williamson with additional production by Callan Orr (Dream On Dreamer, Alt) and mastering by the legendary Kris Crummett (Dance Gavin Dance, Issues, Hail The Sun).

Having shared the stage with some of the most prominent alternative acts both Australian and international, Inertia’s live show has become an essential part of their package. Inertia have previously supported Dream on Dreamer, Ocean Grove, Void of Vision, Story of The Year (US), Slaves (US) and Thornhill and continue to put everything into their live performances, living up to the vocal prowess and exciting instrumentation they have on record.

MIRRORS “THE EGO’S WEIGHT” OUT NOVEMBER 19

Formed in Gippsland in late 2016 by vocalist Patty Goodman and guitarist Tyson Taifer before welcoming Jack Mackin on bass and later Rob Brens on drums, metalcore outfit Mirrors quickly turned the eyes and ears of Australian listeners towards Regional Victoria with the release of their debut EP ‘Fool’s Paradise’ in 2017. ‘Fool’s Paradise’ was followed by 2019’s ‘Cold Sanctuary’ EP.
‘Cold Sanctuary’ took the band beyond the borders of Victoria and around the country, showcasing their craft to audiences on tour with the likes of Wage War, Alpha Wolf, Thornhill, Crystal Lake and many more. Ceaseless work by the band alongside the production team of Scott Simpson and Lance Prenc (Polaris, Alpha Wolf) began in 2019 and throughout 2020, culminating with an eleven track, genre busting tour de force, in their debut album “The Ego’s Weight”.

RESIST RECORDS WELCOMES PRIDELANDS AND RELEASE HEAVY TONGUE

Resist Records welcomes Melbourne-based, five-piece metal band Pridelands to its roster.

Heavy Tongue follows their 2019 single, Dark Sources. It was written by Pridelands, produced by Jamie Marinos and Pridelands, mixed by George Lever at G1 Productions UK (Loathe, Sleep Token) and mastered by Ermin Hamidovic at Systematic Productions AUS (Architects, Northlane, Periphery).

Heavy both instrumentally and in terms of its message, this song shines a harsh spotlight on the corruption and mismanagement of the devastating bushfires that raged through Australia from 2019 to 2020.

“Lyrically, the new single is at heart, a song about corruption in our home country of Australia, both from its inception to the current day. The track highlights tones of inequity, ranging from parliamentary ignorance, to the lack of indigenous cultural teaching in our education systems, to gender inequality. Too many of Australia’s inhabitants “graduate” from their places of education without learning a single thing of the culture, rituals and environmental preservation tactics that the First Nation’s peoples carved the way for so many years prior to the white man’s invasion of this land.”

AMENDS “TALES OF LOVE, LOSS AND OUTLAWS” OUT APRIL 23

Starting in the mid 2010s as an emo-rock revival outfit, Amends have expanded to incorporate a sound more focused on alt-country, heartland rock and folk-punk. Building their style across EP’s and their debut album ‘So Far From Home’, led them to support acts such as Lucero, The Menzingers and Luca Brasi. The strong development of the band’s style and sound is evident in their new record, ‘Tales Of Love, Loss and Outlaws’.

Joining in on the record are Murder By Death Cellist Sarah Baillet and Against Me! leader Laura Jane Grace. The former contributes strings on the ballad “I Gave My Heart Away A Long Time Ago,” while the latter duets on “Walking Backwards.”

‘Tales of Love, Loss, and Outlaws’ demonstrates and solidifies Amends status as one of Australian music’s most unique and endearing prospects.

POST TRUTH “RESPONSES TO TRAUMA” OUT NOVEMBER 13

In the aftermath of the post-earthquake construction boom, when the steelworks had started winding down, an eerie silence fell over Newcastle; jobs were hard to find, businesses were boarded up. But, in the mid-nineties, a rumble could be felt beneath the surface. It wasn’t another tremor, it was a new generation of punk and hardcore bands that formed as a rebuttal to political inaction and social stagnation.

Dale Townsend, Murray Ruse and Jamie Hay emerged during this upheaval and formed the seminal Novocastrian political punk band Conation. Through touring the country, they met Sydney guitarist, Chris Buttery, who played in the cathartic and crushing The Stockholm Syndrome and the blackened hardcore band, Deadstare.

In 2017, after twenty years of friendship, it was time to start a project together. Something heavier and more considered than their past projects. They started Post Truth.

Post Truth’s new record, Responses to Trauma, conceptualises a narrative of traumatic experiences, the brutal ones that stick with us, consume us and change us. “Responses to Trauma” was recorded and mixed by Mike Deslandes (of YLVA & High Tension) at Woodriver Studios, Newcastle Australia.
